Abstract

 

 Kuku memiliki fungsi penting sebagai pelindung ujung jari, penunjang fungsi sensorik, serta aspek estetika yang berperan dalam menunjang penampilan dan kepercayaan diri. Seiring meningkatnya minat terhadap perawatan dan keindahan kuku, penggunaan kosmetik kuku seperti cat kuku, kuku akrilik, cat kuku gel, dan berbagai teknik rias kuku semakin meluas. Meskipun secara umum relatif aman, penggunaan cat dan rias kuku dapat menimbulkan berbagai kelainan kuku akibat faktor mekanis, traumatis, infeksi, maupun reaksi terhadap bahan kimia yang terkandung di dalam produk. Tinjauan pustaka ini bertujuan untuk membahas jenis-jenis kelainan kuku yang dapat terjadi akibat penggunaan cat kuku dan rias kuku, termasuk kuku rapuh, onikolisis, dermatitis kontak, infeksi, perubahan warna kuku, hingga risiko jangka panjang akibat paparan sinar ultraviolet pada penggunaan cat kuku gel. Berbagai bahan seperti formaldehid, akrilat, metakrilat, dan pelarut organik diketahui berperan dalam timbulnya efek samping tersebut. Pemahaman mengenai teknik perawatan kuku, bahan kosmetik yang digunakan, serta potensi komplikasinya sangat penting bagi klinisi agar dapat melakukan diagnosis yang tepat, memberikan edukasi pencegahan, dan menentukan tata laksana yang sesuai pada pasien dengan kelainan kuku akibat kosmetik.
